Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion + Martin Sexton

From East coast USA, Sarah Lee and her husband Johnny are doing a short UK tour, their first in five years, with a four piece lineup. Sarah Lee is Arlo Guthrie's daughter / Woody Guthrie’s granddaughter. She only began singing in public after meeting Johnny and they’ve toured as apart of Arlo’s family band. Their music, beautiful soft country-rock stylee with gorgeous harmonies, just oozes class. Their new album ‘Bright examples’ features a virtual Jayhawks reunion with Gary Louris and Mark Olsen providing back up vocals. My favourite Texan-Croatian accordion player, the fab Rad Lorkovich (oft-time musical cohort of Andy White) pops up all over the album, too. They supported Martin Sexton across the USA and he wants to tour with them as their support. They’ve one night spare before heading to Scandinavia and they want to play Brighton. How could we decline the invitation to play? Another new venue for this date - splashing out on the Pavilion Theatre, part of the Dome complex. No, I’m not going posh, but the venue should suit this act well. Come and prove me right and meet a member of a most distinguished musical family.
